A brief historical intake on Dubai..?

So being that Dubai is a city that has experienced different historical imprints and migrations of people, I am just wondering as I am doing an exam on it tomorrow if anyone can give me a brief synopsis on the historical imprints and migrations of people that influenced the city and made it what it was today from Pre-Islamic times to present day Dubai. Anyone?
